What meanings does celebrity endorsement bring to the brand in this advert?

 This advert of Tag Heuer is endorsed by Tiger Woods world champion of golf, he has been recorded has the player of the year for eleven years, making him a successful sportsman having a long life span, this can be significant towards Tag Heuer as being a long lasting, champion, watch of all time like tiger woods. Targeting at most male that are currently climbing to their career success, aiming to be as successful as Tiger Woods. Making tiger woods as the leader to aspire to, with the slogan of “what are you made of?” also illustrates the pervious point of how this watch that Tiger Woods wear symbolize the success you can achieve with the watch, and also for those are already as “well made” as Tiger Woods, this is the watch that is made for them, that supports their identity, and status. With Tiger Woods face looking straight in to the camera with a very slight smile, can also supports the brand identity of Tag Heuer being confident, simplistic but classic like the clothes of tiger wood that is wearing in this advert.

In 2009 Tiger Woods was accused of having an external affair with a new york city night club manager, at the end of the year over a dozen of  women claimed in the media that  they have had affairs with Tiger Woods. As this is not the brand identity of Nike as being, not trust worthy, not loyal, and does not care about their family. Tiger Woods was successful in advertisement endorsement, not only because of his talents in gold, but also his image of a good dad, family image. Therefore Nike was under pressure of dropping him as their endorser. Nike did not dropped him is because of the cheating he did was not on the sports aspect, Nike turned their direction from a family guy image, towards a fully altheltic image, as a recent Tiger Woods slogan in Nike has said, ”Winning takes care of everything.”

     The First Scene of the film is when the transition of shifts inside a factory reminds me of a cage in a zoo where animals are being released for a certain amount of free time, as like living inside a prison. All of the workers in the scene were completely synchronised, they wore the same costume navy blue work wear and a beanie walking slowly looking towards the ground, without a tiny peace of life inside them. the setting was small, and they barely had space to move. this implies their life in metropolis being dull, harsh and non human. all of this creates the dehumanisation of the workers and how slave alike they are being treated, the line between man and machine is really blurry.
      In the second location there is a stadium as Lang uses a loose frame it shows the size of the stadium which is huge with very little people inside the stadium from the actions and close shot of the protagonist it is shown they are enjoying themselves as they are running with joyful faces. it shows a huge contrast towards the last location as it uses a tight framing and hard lighting with lots of people in a small atmosphere shows the lack of freedom and depression of the scene, compare with the soft lighting loose framing of the stadium it shows a huge contrast of the happy life of the very few and the depression of the majority. May also imply the wealth gap between the two different kinds of life the rich and the poor, that in the metropolis world is just like any world.
     The main protagonist is the Female which brought the kids in to the forbidden garden that separates the city of metropolis with the wealthy. she has close up shots to her and was standing in the middle the whole time of the frame therefore it shows her importance towards the film. also the male that played hide and seek and chased of the girl, as he is followed with the camera throughout the whole scene and major facial expression is display of how exactly he is feeling at the moment also actions of the scene is also created by him. the difference from the appearance can already differ the two status of protagonists the men as loads of make up and ridiculously dress codes leggings layers of tops and hair, on the other hand the female has only a dress on and simple hair shows a unnatural scene as normally its in the eyes of women being the more dressed up one. But this also signifies the finical difference between the two characters.
The explosion of machine, an image of a monsters mouth becomes the machine, people are being drag in to the mouth looking like a tunnel to another world like slaves. this can imply to the realisation of the main protagonist that workers are treated really harsh and they are pushed to their limit of their labour that creates the vision of that monster. the other possibility is that there is real tunnel towards another world like hell that opens every once in a while for the slaves to be brought in that contributes to the later development of the plot.
      Another important shot of the film the clock is key to the whole film there is two clock the upper one that is smaller has 24 hours which is the same as the ones we have in real life the lower one only has ten hours and is way bigger in size, when the shift change it was the lower clock which goes to 10 o'clock signifying that this clock is for the workers meaning the majority of people in the film, as it is larger in size. Furthermore the smaller clock has a higher digit of number implying wealth and the privileged which is smaller amount as shown in the size of the clock.the last scene of the opening with the shots of highly technologies city is shown creating a contrast from the underground metropolis that behind this beautiful it is supported by dirty work of numerous humans that are being dehumanised by the over load of labour.

first of all i will consider the setting of the back ground of this film being an era of around 1950 america where the culture of rockabilly is on trend judging from the clothing of men. a leather jacket with slick back hair and the women with a shorted curled hair and short sleeves. i would guess that this would be a typical cafe in the united states. the background is blurred implying there is less importance towards the scene, as we can see that there is tension between the two characters in the foreground, the women is looking straight to the eyes of the men signifies confidence with the men striking a pose of the authorities hand on waist and pulling closer the women, she does not look terrified, no fear is shown on her face. Furthermore as she is standing inside the bar i would assume that she would be one of the staffs from the cafe being questioned by the men which from the height we can is slightly higher than the women. The scar on the mens face also shows that he is a violent person. with the gloves on his hands i would assume he is driving a motorcycle, which again supports the rockabilly culture. a tight frame is used to focus on the tension between the two characters enhance the atmosphere of excitement in the scene where something big might happen right after he grabs on to her shirt. to conclude i would guess that this scene is about a the men seeking for justice having to question a civilian about a certain crime which she does not know about. suggesting that this may be the genre of drama.
